Medics Café has come a long way since its inception in 2016, evolving significantly to meet the growing needs of medical professionals around the world. What began as Recall Medicine—a platform dedicated to helping young medical professionals navigate the complexities of medical licensing exams in the Middle East—has transformed into a comprehensive, global resource for healthcare professionals under its new identity, Medics Café.
When Recall Medicine was launched in 2016, the primary goal was to provide a tailored approach to exam preparation. The platform offered personalised guidance on everything from the application process to the structure and content of various medical licensing exams in the Middle East. Through interactive coaching sessions conducted via Zoom and Skype, the platform became a lifeline for many doctors, ensuring they were well-prepared and confident in their ability to pass their exams.
However, the needs of the medical community have evolved, and so did we. In 2021, Recall Medicine was renamed Medics Café, reflecting our broader mission to serve medical professionals in a more expansive and holistic manner. We extended our services to cover not only Middle Eastern medical license exams but also a wide array of other exams critical to global healthcare professionals. In addition to the original offerings, we now provide expert guidance for the Occupational English Test (OET), which is essential for healthcare professionals looking to demonstrate their language proficiency, as well as the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB 1 and PLAB 2) exams, necessary for doctors seeking to practise medicine in the United Kingdom.
What sets Medics Café apart is our dual registration in both the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan—making us the first platform of its kind to operate in these regions. This unique status allows us to bridge the gap between different healthcare systems and offer services tailored to the specific needs of medical professionals looking to practice not just in the Middle East, but across the globe.
Currently, we offer guidance and preparatory support in an impressive range of areas. This includes the Middle Eastern medical licensing exams such as the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Ministry of Health (MOH), Department of Health (DOH), Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), Saudi Medical Licensing Exam (SMLE), and the Qatar Medical Council exam. We also provide comprehensive support for other globally recognised exams like the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP), Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), and Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM), helping doctors pursue their professional ambitions in various fields and countries.
Beyond exam preparation, Medics Café offers invaluable insight into Life in the Middle East, helping medical professionals acclimatise to new cultures, work environments, and healthcare systems. We aim to support not just their exam success but their overall journey as they transition into practising medicine in new settings.
Looking ahead, Medics Café remains committed to innovation and growth. We have exciting new services in the pipeline for both medical professionals and the general public. Whether you're preparing for an important exam, seeking to advance your medical career, or simply looking for guidance on working and living in a new country, we have a wealth of resources and expertise to offer. Stay connected with us to discover the full range of services and updates that we will continue to bring to the medical community.
